Anchor Effect - Chapter 2.1: Such a bad guy

The main entrance of the private library was about ten meters away. Ye Yuchen didn't look at Yu Xiu anymore; he turned around, took two steps forward, stopped suddenly, and looked back, only to see Yu Xiu's figure had disappeared around the corner.

They hadn't seen each other for eight years, and the chance meeting just then was like a breeze blowing across the lake, as if something happened, but also as if nothing happened.

Zhan Yang on the side was looking at Ye Yuchen with a strange look, as if he had seen a cat that never ate fish suddenly guarding the fish tank.

Ye Yuchen turned his head and met the scrutinizing gaze: "What's wrong?"

"Teacher Ye," Zhan Yang said curiously, "So you could still lie."

He was pointing out that Ye Yuchen had tricked Yu Xiu about the car accident.

It was true that Ye Yuchen hadn't had a car accident, nor was his lower body paralyzed. As for why he had lied to Yu Xiu...

Perhaps "teasing" was more appropriate.

Ye Yuchen had always liked to tease Yu Xiu when the two got along.

"It was just a joke between acquaintances." Ye Yuchen stepped forward and continued to walk towards the library.

Zhan Yang pushed the wheelchair to follow and asked, "I heard that Yu Xiu is the same gender, was that true?"

"Where did you hear that?" Ye Yuchen slowed down and asked.

"Isn't it always spread like this?" Zhan Yang said, "The work he got into was a same-sex theme, and he hasn't had a rumored girlfriend for so many years..."

"So you pay attention to him." Ye Yuchen said.

"That's not true." Zhan Yang sniffed proudly, "I watched him grow up."

Ye Yuchen found it funny when he heard the words and slightly raised the corners of his mouth.

It wasn't that Zhan Yang's words hit Ye Yuchen's smile, but he suddenly remembered that when he was still in college, Yu Xiu was the most annoyed when people said that about him.

Yu Xiu's mother, Yu Min, was a star at the time, but because of the birth of Yu Xiu, her development was delayed, and her career began to decline. She pinned all her ambitions on Yu Xiu, so Yu Xiu came out to film at a very young age and was a well-known child star.

But anyone who had seen Yu Xiu's works when he was a child always liked to say one thing: "I watched him grow up."

That was what Ye Yuchen said when he greeted Yu Xiu for the first time, but it turned out that his face was hot and his ass was cold, and Yu Xiu didn't bother to talk to him at all.

"Don't let Yu Xiu hear this." Ye Yuchen reminded casually, "He won't be happy."

Now Zhan Yang was even more curious: "Teacher Ye, you even know this kind of thing?"

With a sound of "shua," the automatic door of the library opened on both sides, and the sensor corridor light illuminated the private study.

Ye Yuchen didn't intend to chat with Zhan Yang and walked towards the bookshelf: "You can get off work."

Zhan Yang choked and said embarrassingly, "Teacher Ye, you can't stand for a long time, go sit down, and I'll make you a cup of tea."

Ye Yuchen took a copy of "Appreciation of Classic Scripts" from the bookshelf, went to the window, and sat down.

The projections of the four panes of the window frame fell on the paper, which was a little yellowed, and there were many notes written between the lines, even Ye Yuchen himself couldn't remember clearly. This was the first time he had read this book again.

Although every time he read it again, he could gain something new, the book was full of familiar content, and it was easy to lose his mind when reading it. Unknowingly, Ye Yuchen's thoughts began to diverge involuntarily.

Yu Xiu said he hadn't changed at all, how was that possible?

He had long since lost the vigor of his youth. If Zhan Yang hadn't reminded him, he wouldn't have realized that he was almost thirty years old, and he would still have thoughts of teasing his ex-boyfriend.

His thoughts drifted farther and farther away, and when he came back to his senses, the answer from the front desk came from the mobile phone attached to his ear: "Was it Yu Xiu? He booked a room for three days."

Before Ye Yuchen could continue to give instructions, the front desk asked intimately, "Do you want to give Mr. Yu a free room fee?"

"That's not necessary." Ye Yuchen just asked casually; anyway, even if the room fee was waived, Yu Xiu would not accept his favor.

Later, Ye Yuchen let Zhan Yang do his own thing.

He took the book and went back to the villa on the top of the mountain. Auntie was preparing the ingredients for the evening. The sound of chopping vegetables sounded in the deserted villa, which added a bit of smoke and fire.

Seeing Ye Yuchen, the aunt in the kitchen said excitedly, "We’ll eat a big yellow croaker tonight. My husband just caught it. I asked him to send the biggest one."

Ye Yuchen thought for a while and said, "Let him send some to the restaurant down the mountain as well."

After returning to the study to put away the books, Ye Yuchen inadvertently glanced out the window when he turned to leave.

From the location of the study room, he could see the townhouses on the mountainside. At first, he just glanced at it carelessly, but when Ye Yuchen saw someone swimming on the roof of a certain building, his gaze was fixed there.

——It was Yu Xiu.

The well-proportioned townhouses were arranged in a terraced field. Yu Xiu's villa was on the top row, and he used to swim on the roof there, so he didn't have to worry about being noticed by others.

It was just this other person, not the owner of the villa who lived on the top of the mountain.

Yu Xiu had obviously changed too, the muscles on his body had become firmer, and his youthful air had completely faded away. Just looking at him from such a distance could make people dream about it.

Thinking that peeking was not a good behavior, Ye Yuchen simply left the window and stopped looking down the mountain.
