Anchor Effect - Chapter 10.2: Deliberate troublemaking
"And we'll waive the room charge," Ye Yuchen added.
"Not enough," Yu Xiu replied.
"Why are you making a fuss over nothing?" Zhang Yang, who had been standing nearby, couldn't help but speak up. "Is a single hair worth all this drama?"
"Zhang Yang," Ye Yuchen turned his head to Zhang Yang, "Go outside and wait for me."
Zhang Yang frowned. "Teacher Ye..."
"Be obedient."
The two seemingly light words carried immense authority, and Zhang Yang obediently went outside. Meanwhile, Yu Xiu's expression darkened.
"Just say it directly," Ye Yuchen, oblivious to Yu Xiu's changing mood, sat down beside him. "What do you want?"
From the moment he received the call, Ye Yuchen knew that this had nothing to do with cleanliness.
But he couldn't pinpoint the exact reason. Perhaps it was because of their game of chess last night when Yu Xiu asked him, "If you could start over, would you still not become an actor?" and he replied with a "yes," which seemed to have displeased Yu Xiu.
"Do you always have such patience with your employees?" Yu Xiu didn't answer Ye Yuchen's question. "It doesn't seem like you."
"Patience is necessary," Ye Yuchen replied. "It's not easy to hire employees in a place like this."
Apart from the local indigenous people, many people simply don't want to work in such a remote place.
Life may be leisurely, but there's no shopping, no express delivery, and it's almost isolated from the world. Young people can't stand it.
Even Zhang Yang, who received triple the standard salary, only stayed on the island because of it.
"So, you should just indulge your employees?" Yu Xiu frowned and asked.
Ye Yuchen couldn't help but be curious. "Are you talking about the cleaning lady who takes care of your room or Zhang Yang?"
Yu Xiu pursed his lips and said, "Both."
Ye Yuchen couldn't help but laugh. "What, are you the boss's wife? You're even concerned about the employees."
Hearing this, Yu Xiu suddenly furrowed his eyebrows, and there was a hint of anger in his expression. "Ye Yuchen."
Alright, maybe he shouldn't have joked like that with his ex-boyfriend.
Ye Yuchen reflected on his words inwardly, but he couldn't help but think about the past he had dreamed of during the massage earlier.
Back then, Yu Xiu would obediently call him "pretty big brother," but now he got angry so easily. He was becoming less adorable.
"Alright, let's not beat around the bush," Ye Yuchen said. "What did you call me down here for?"
Yu Xiu averted his gaze, seeming like he didn't want to bother with Ye Yuchen. However, after a moment, he turned his head and said to Ye Yuchen, "The private estate on the mountain, I want free access."
Ye Yuchen was a bit surprised that this was the reason behind all of this.
The sign that had been blown down had already been reinstalled, and Yu Xiu must have gone up again and seen the sign with the words on it. Otherwise, he wouldn't have come up with the concept of a "private estate."
"Is this request of yours," Ye Yuchen chuckled, "really worth all this trouble?"
"Not really," Yu Xiu resumed his previous indifference. "But I was deliberately messing with you."
Ye Yuchen: "..."
Well, that wasn't entirely unexpected.
As expected of his bratty younger brother.
"Alright," Ye Yuchen stood up. "I'll let the staff know. If you want to go up, go ahead."
When he came out of the villa, Zhang Yang, who had been waiting outside, immediately approached. "Teacher Ye, what does he want to do?"
"He's not doing anything."
Ye Yuchen simply said, "He wants to go up," and Zhang Yang looked like he wanted to object.
However, with just a glance from Ye Yuchen, he swallowed his words and changed his tone. "Yu Xiu just said that you know there shouldn't be a woman's hair on his bed."
Ye Yuchen boarded the shuttle without responding.
Zhang Yang didn't wait for a reply and asked straightforwardly, "What does this mean?"
What else could it mean?
Yu Xiu's bed wouldn't have a woman's hair on it because he was gay.
The reason Ye Yuchen knew this was because he was the one who had been in bed with Yu Xiu.
Of course, Ye Yuchen wouldn't tell Zhang Yang any of this. He simply said, "It's none of your business," and didn't engage in further conversation.
Back on the mountain, Ye Yuchen returned to his wheelchair.
While the massage had relieved some of his back pain, he still rested as much as possible when there was no need to walk.
Approaching noon, the housekeeper had prepared a meal. Zhang Yang pushed Ye Yuchen to the dining table. Before Ye Yuchen could pick up his chopsticks, his phone suddenly rang.
Glancing at the caller ID, it was Zhou Quan, Ye Yuchen's cousin, and also the screenwriter "Xie Xiao" whom Yu Xiu knew.
"What's the matter?" Ye Yuchen answered the call.
"Can't I call you without a reason?" Zhou Quan complained and then added, "I'm on vacation at your island. I'll be at the pier soon. Send a car to pick me up."
... She's arriving at the pier soon?
Realizing where Zhou Quan was, Ye Yuchen, who was usually calm and composed, jumped up from his wheelchair. "Quick, take me back!"
