Anchor Effect - Chapter 19.2: I'm Yu Xiu
He remembered hearing somewhere that foot baths were best kept under fifteen minutes; otherwise, they could make you feel weak all over.
"You get dizzy from foot baths?" Yu Xiu tilted his head, clearly not understanding.
"Yeah," Ye Yuchen said, "It's okay; you go change—"
Before he could finish his sentence, a shadow suddenly appeared beside him.
Yu Xiu returned to Ye Yuchen's side, lifted one leg into the water, and then bent down to scoop up Ye Yuchen, who was sitting at the edge of the pool.
Ye Yuchen was taken by surprise, and he instinctively wrapped his arms around Yu Xiu's neck, staring wide-eyed at Yu Xiu's jawline, momentarily losing his ability to speak. "You..."
"Are you still feeling dizzy?" Yu Xiu slightly lifted his chin, looking at Ye Yuchen in his arms.
Ye Yuchen wanted to say that he was no longer dizzy and that Yu Xiu could put him down, but...
He couldn't.
As soon as Yu Xiu put him down, he would have to walk by himself, and right now, his back still hurt a bit. Walking would only make Yu Xiu notice that his "lower half" wasn't functioning properly.
So, after hesitating for a while, Ye Yuchen could only grit his teeth and force out a sentence. "Still dizzy."
"Is that so?" Yu Xiu calmly assessed Ye Yuchen's expression. "If you want me to carry you, you can just say it."
Ye Yuchen: "... No thanks!"
He admitted that his statement of "still dizzy" was somewhat fabricated, considering he had stopped soaking his feet. Who would still feel dizzy for so long?
But, maintaining one's dignity as an adult meant not revealing certain things. How come Yu Xiu hadn't grown up in all these years?
"Look at the road!" Ye Yuchen furrowed his brow and abruptly changed the topic.
Yu Xiu picked up Ye Yuchen's shoes and carried him to the nearby rest area.
The previously sleepy girl, who had just been dozing off, suddenly woke up when she saw her boss being carried out by Yu Xiu. She stood there like a wooden post, staring at them with wide eyes.
Yu Xiu went to change in the dressing room, and Ye Yuchen, with an air of authority as Teacher Ye, gave the girl a quick glance. "If you're sleepy, go back to bed."
"Not sleepy, not sleepy, not sleepy!" The girl quickly waved her hands, focusing her attention on the computer screen.
After sitting in the rest area for a while, Ye Yuchen's back pain eased a bit. At least, walking wouldn't be a problem.
By that time, Yu Xiu had finished changing and came out. He walked straight to Ye Yuchen and asked, "Do you still want me to carry you?"
Behind the reception desk, it was as if two laser beams shot out.
"No need," Ye Yuchen stood up and walked toward the door, ignoring whether Yu Xiu followed or not. He got onto the shuttle bus that had been waiting outside.
Yu Xiu, on the other hand, was self-aware and followed Ye Yuchen off the bus, sitting next to him.
"Where are you going now?" Ye Yuchen asked.
At this time, Yu Xiu most likely wanted to have dinner at the restaurant, but they could also eat dinner at the beachside bar. So, Ye Yuchen wasn't entirely sure.
"I'll take you up first," Yu Xiu said.
That was acceptable.
Ye Yuchen noticed that although Yu Xiu's temper had worsened and his arrogance had grown, overall, he was still quite obedient. Despite his impure motives for suggesting sponsorship, he still knew when to be considerate.
Ye Yuchen called Auntie Zhan, asking her to prepare dinner. The driver seemed eager to finish work, so he drove a bit faster than usual.
In just a few minutes, the shuttle bus stopped at the entrance of the mountain villa.
Ye Yuchen instructed the driver to take Yu Xiu further down and then head home, but to his surprise, Yu Xiu got off the bus with him and said to the driver, "You can go off duty now; I'm not going down."
The driver was delighted and immediately stepped on the gas pedal, driving the bus away.
Ye Yuchen looked puzzled, turned his gaze away from the shuttle bus, and asked Yu Xiu, "Why aren't you going down?"
"I'll eat here," Yu Xiu said, striding toward the house.
"No," Ye Yuchen quickly stopped Yu Xiu, "I don't need you to accompany me for dinner right now."
"Why?" Yu Xiu asked, "Because someone else is accompanying you?"
By "someone else," he naturally meant Zhan Yang, who had spoken with Ye Yuchen on the phone twice.
"It's not about that," Ye Yuchen patiently explained, "This is my home, and I didn't invite you here."
Leaving aside the fact that Ye Yuchen hadn't fully adapted to their "new relationship," even if he had, if he understood correctly, sugar daddies usually kept their sugar babies elsewhere, right? Who would openly bring their sugar baby home?
"Aren't you going to support me?" Yu Xiu asked, staring straight at Ye Yuchen. "Why won't you even feed me?"
As he said this, Yu Xiu slightly lifted his chin, which forced him to look up at Ye Yuchen's face.
And looking up at someone from below represented helplessness, pleading, a position of weakness...
Ye Yuchen naturally wasn't fooled by this act. He hadn't forgotten that the pitiful person before him was a movie star.
"Alright, be obedient," Ye Yuchen decided to assert his new role. "I am your sugar daddy."
Yu Xiu immediately dropped the puppy dog eyes and replied calmly, "I am Yu Xiu."
After saying that, he strode inside the house.
"I am the sugar daddy."
"I am Yu Xiu."
Clearly, the sugar daddy was the one in the superior position. However, Yu Xiu used his own name to respond, as if he were a star with a net worth of millions, a highly sought-after rising actor, and a small sugar daddy couldn't control him at all.
Inside the house, they could hear Zhan Yang's surprised voice, and Ye Yuchen decided to retract his previous thoughts.
Who said Yu Xiu was well-behaved?
This little brother was truly infuriating him.
