Anchor Effect - Chapter 25.4: Yu Xiu's Wife

"I called you this morning," Yu Xiu said in a calm tone. "You didn't go."

"I had something to do," Ye Yuchen replied.

Yu Xiu fell silent for a moment and then said, "I saw you in the cafeteria just now."

Ye Yuchen hesitated for a moment, then touched the back of his head in embarrassment. "You saw that?"

"Who is she?" Yu Xiu asked.

In fact, he didn't want to ask because Ye Yuchen didn't need to explain himself. He also knew that asking such a question would make him seem strange.

However, Ye Yuchen's answer was somewhat unexpected.

"She's the forum moderator," Ye Yuchen said.

"The forum moderator?" Yu Xiu tilted his head in confusion.

"You don't know? Those people on the forum keep pairing us together, claiming that you like me. Isn't that ridiculous?" Ye Yuchen said with some displeasure. "They even say that I'm your wife. Isn't that going too far? At the very least, I should be the husband, right?"

Yu Xiu was aware of the forum posts, but he was still a bit puzzled. "So, you approached the forum moderator?"

"I asked her to delete the posts," Ye Yuchen replied. "I treated her to a meal and bought her bubble tea. I don't really care about the posts, but you're a big celebrity. We can't let this kind of thing spread."

At this point, Ye Yuchen's reference to "big celebrity" was different from before.

In his eyes, Yu Xiu was indeed a big celebrity.

Yu Xiu didn't explain and just said, "I'll go upstairs to get my bag."

"I like you," Yu Xiu said.

The air fell silent, as if a silent bomb had exploded between them.

Ye Yuchen looked bewildered and belatedly said, "Huh?"

Yu Xiu simply observed Ye Yuchen's reaction in silence, without saying a word.

After a while, Ye Yuchen cleared his throat, swallowed, and it seemed like his brain was stuck. He asked in a somewhat dazed manner, "You... you like me?"

"Yes," Yu Xiu said calmly. "It's the kind of liking a junior has for a senior."

Realizing that he had been played by Yu Xiu, Ye Yuchen took a sudden step forward, jumped onto Yu Xiu's back, and grabbed his neck. "How did you learn to be so mischievous? Daring to tease me!"

There was a bright smile on Yu Xiu's lips. "I learned it from you."

"I didn't teach you to be mischievous!" After having his fun, Ye Yuchen jumped down from Yu Xiu's back and put on the dignity of a senior. He scolded, "You're not allowed to make this kind of joke in the future, understand?"

"Okay," Yu Xiu replied honestly. However, what he was thinking was that next time, he wouldn't make it a joke because it seemed like his senior didn't really resist the idea.
