Anchor Effect - Chapter 26.1: I don't eat people

Ye Yuchen's coursework involved analyzing the artistic value of a film, and he chose the movie "The Silence of Dawn Here." However, he had just summarized the plot and found himself unable to continue.

Unlike casually jotting down thoughts in reading notes, once an essay touches on "art" and "value" and bears the title of "thesis," the difficulty of writing increases dramatically.

After scratching his head for a long time, the word count in his document hadn't increased much. Yu Xiu, who was sitting beside him, couldn't offer much help either. So, as he continued to write, Ye Yuchen unconsciously started playing with his phone.

The online forum moderator had promised him to delete the posts. He hadn't checked personally, but since Yu Xiu said they were deleted, the posts should be gone... right?

Ye Yuchen quickly raised his phone to his eyes and squinted as he examined it, wearing an incredulous expression.

Yesterday's highlighted post had indeed been deleted, but today, a higher-level CP post had sprung up in the forum.

Although no one in the post mentioned the names of the two main characters, Ye Yuchen immediately understood that "wife” referred to himself, and "darling” referred to Yu Xiu.

Starting from this floor, the letters YYCP repeatedly appeared. In Ye Yuchen's understanding, YY meant "fantasizing," and he couldn't understand how it could be combined with CP. So, he turned his phone over and asked Yu Xiu beside him, "What does YYCP mean?"

Yu Xiu's typing paused, and he turned to look at Ye Yuchen, responding with a question, "Are you browsing our CP forum?"

Ye Yuchen suddenly felt a bit guilty. "No."

Yu Xiu turned back and continued typing, "YY is your surname plus mine, so YYCP is our CP name."

"It can be like that?" Ye Yuchen suddenly realized, forgetting that he had just denied it. He flipped his phone back and continued browsing. However, he suddenly felt something was amiss and asked Yu Xiu, "How did you know?"

Yu Xiu leisurely unscrewed a bottle cap and took a sip of water, saying, "When I went to buy water just now, I took a look too."

"You also find it absurd, right?" Ye Yuchen felt like he had found a kindred spirit. "I clearly asked the forum moderator to delete our posts, and she actually opened a new one. Isn't she just trying to scam me out of meals and bubble tea?"

"Not really," Yu Xiu put down the water bottle. "Our names and photos aren't in the posts."

Ye Yuchen scrolled down a few times and indeed found that to be the case.

Some people in the forum saw them goofing around outside the dormitory earlier, but there were no covert photos. They had simply described it in words. Some others couldn't quite imagine it, so the forum owner provided a simple sketch.

"But everyone knows it's us," Ye Yuchen put away his phone.

"Do you mind?" Yu Xiu asked.

Not really.

Since their names and photos weren't shown, it was basically fine.

But...

Ye Yuchen furrowed his brows slightly. "The way they call me 'wife' makes me a bit uncomfortable."

No matter how you look at it, Yu Xiu should be the one being called "wife," right?

"Wife," a very soft voice suddenly sounded in his ear.

Ye Yuchen quickly turned his head. "What?"

Yu Xiu pretended to look at his computer screen as if nothing had happened.

"You're deliberately trying to make me uncomfortable, aren't you?" Ye Yuchen naturally knew that Yu Xiu was doing it on purpose. He pulled Yu Xiu's arm in retaliation and leaned in close to his ear, saying, "If I call you 'darling,' don't you feel uncomfortable? Hm? Darling?"

Yu Xiu pursed his lips tightly and remained silent. From the side, Ye Yuchen thought Yu Xiu was also uncomfortable.

It wasn't until much later that Ye Yuchen recalled that afternoon in the library. He realized he had been foolish at the time, and Yu Xiu had been clearly holding back laughter.

He called Yu Xiu "darling," so how could Yu Xiu possibly feel uncomfortable?

It was already quite late. Ye Yuchen turned on the lights in the audiovisual room and said to Yu Xiu, "You should go and rest."

After saying that, he walked toward the entrance of the audiovisual room. However, when he reached the elevator and noticed that Yu Xiu was still following him, he couldn't help but stop and turn to Yu Xiu, asking, "Aren't you going back?"

Yu Xiu succinctly replied, "No."

Ye Yuchen turned around completely, facing Yu Xiu head-on, and asked, "If you're not going back, then where are you going to sleep?"

Without looking away, Yu Xiu reached over Ye Yuchen and pressed the button for going up, saying, "I'll sleep with you."

His tone was completely natural, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
